Assistant Resident Engineer (Ref: 50326)

Job Duties:

  • Responsible to the Contract Manager or his representatives, or the project professionals/site staff of the Housing Dept when so required to work for other Housing Authority contracts or projects and may be required to represent the HKHA and/or the Contract Manager;
  • Assist in the supervision of foundation works and administration of contracts under direct instruction and supervision of the HKHA, or Director’s Representative (DR) or his representative;
  • Check that the works in contracts are in compliance with the environmental protection regulations;
  • Witness the sampling and testing of pile materials in contracts;
  • Assist in the supervision of pre-drilling, proof drill and any other site investigation to prove founding levels for the piles in contracts;
  • Supervise all driving operations, joints and to assist in witnessing the acceptance tests for driven piles;
  • Supervise the boring, reinforcement fixing and placing, concrete mixing and placing, and checking of founding levels of large diameter bored piles;
  • Supervise the reinforcement fixing and placing, concrete mixing and placing of pile caps;
  • Supervise the static loading tests for driven piles, and to check the pile head levels and pile head treatment;
  • Supervise the construction of temporary works for the construction of pile caps;
  • Record and report the underground obstructions encountered during pile driving, the pile locations and lengths and other information of the contract;
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Contract Manager, his representatives, the project professionals or site staff.
  • Follow instructions issued by the DR or his representatives for the proper performance of the Service; and
  • Attend at any locations in Hong Kong and occasionally in the Mainland China as deemed necessary by the DR or his representatives and as may be designated from time to time.

Employment Terms:

  • Minimum working hours shall be 45 hours in 5 days each week, excluding lunch breaks and travel time between home and office or site. The normal office hours are Monday to Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. including one hour for lunch;
  • Work location: Meinhardt offices or government department.

Requirements:

  • Fulfill the minimum qualifications and experience required for a Technical Competent Person of grad T3 under RSE’s Stream in the CoPSS; Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate or equivalent in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering and with a minimum of 5 years relevant site supervision and/or administration experience in structural engineering works and/or geotechnical engineering works and/or civil engineering works of which minimum 1 year should be local experience on foundation works and related to piling work supervision gained within previous 3 years from the date of provision of body-shopped candidate(s).
    OR
    Degree or equivalent in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering and with a minimum of 2 years relevant site supervision and/or administration experience in structural engineering works and/or geotechnical engineering works and/or civil engineering works of which minimum 1 year should be local experience; and possess minimum 6 months local experience on foundation works and related to piling work supervision gained within previous 2 years from the date of provision of body-shopped candidate(s).
  • With communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua;

Assistant Land Surveyor (Ref: 70526)

Job Duties:

  • Assist Land Surveyors in developing the BIM model initiatives by reviewing PLIS/EMMS data workflows, establishing sustainable BIM maintenance processes, and defining standard templates to support continuous asset updates and smart infrastructure management.
  • Assist Land Surveyors in aligning BIM data requirements with the as-built BIM models handed over from the CKR project team, standardizing attributes, and supporting the first implementation of BIM-based Asset Information Models (AIM) for lighting installations.
  • Assist Land Surveyors in developing and implementing the AI-driven Lighting Defects Detection System, including collecting user requirements, coordinating with contractors for data collection and integration, preparing tender specifications, conducting system performance reviews, and preparing evaluation reports and;
  • Assist Land Surveyors in supervising the Survey Team of Lighting Division in support of the Engineers’ work;
  • Assist Land Surveyors in overseeing the monthly and ad-hoc audit survey in strengthening the quality control on the lamp post data submitted under the three MOM contracts;
  • Provide daily support on various GIS and IT systems of Lighting Division and system revamping including Works Order Information System (WOIS) and Public Lighting Information System (PLIS);
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisors and to share other workload in Lighting

Employment Terms:

  • 5 days’ work, Mondays (except Public Holidays) 0900-1800, Tuesdays – Fridays (except Public Holidays) 0900-1745, normally 44 hours per week (including lunch break);
  • Work location: Meinhardt offices or government

Requirements:

  • A qualification recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) as satisfying the academic requirements for corporate membership in the Land Surveying Division;
  • Completed a 2-year graduate training scheme recognized by the HKIS or equivalent;
  • Have Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSE or HKCEE or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of and possession of experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) and application development will be advantageous;
  • With communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua;
  • Prefer immediately.
